From the artist: Hot, sultry days of summer in the city... this piece was originated by my love of shade. I'm like one of those sparkly vampires, when the sun is out I head for the shade. That's why Pittsburgh is perfect for me... so few sunny days! I took the original image of the shade on a city sidewalk, and breathed the bright sunny light into it. This framed silk brings a dreamy, vintage aura into a modern space. Vibrant orange and green tones wrap a serenely poised woman in artful foliage, balancing nostalgia with contemporary abstraction.
